Carouthers, who was named Kentucky Mr. Football by the Associated Press in 2016, has rushed for 1,092 yards and 16 touchdowns on 208 carries over his two-year Navy career. He’s also added 208 receiving yards on four catches and three touchdowns.
As a junior in 2020, the former Purple totaled 358 yards on 97 rushes and two touchdowns over 10 games.
Carouthers will be in the mix to replace Gaej Walker as he’ll compete with returnee Jaikairi Moses and North Dakota State transfer Adam Coburn to get the boat load of the touches in new offensive coordinator Zach Kittley’s pass heavy offense.
With Walker anchoring the backfield last season, the Hilltoppers averaged 125.7 yards on 32.2 carries per game (3.9 yards per rush).
