WKU hosted FIU on senior day. After an ugly start in which the Tops fell behind 14–3, the Hilltoppers would score 35 straight points on the strength of back to back defensive touchdowns in the third quarter and they’d roll to a 38–21 Win moving to 4–6 on the 2020 season
Charlotte has been off since Halloween when they traveled to Duke. It was all Blue Devils as they scored the games first 24 points. Despite only outgaining the 49ers 401–348, the Blue Devils were never threatened as they handed Charlotte a 53–19 Loss as the 49ers fell to 2–3 on the season.

Last Meeting
Last Year, WKU hosted a reeling Charlotte team during homecoming weekend. WKU started off slow and fell behind the 49ers 7–0 eight minutes into the game. WKU would respond by scoring the next two touchdowns before Charlotte would answer on a 47-yard wheel route to Benny Lemay. Cory Munson would then drill a 45-yard field goal to take a 17–14 lead into the locker room. The second half was all WKU as they’d go on a 13–0 run in the third quarter capping off the days scoring on a trick play that Lucky Jackson threw an eight-yard touchdown to quarterback Ty Storey. WKU’s defense continued to clamp down the rest of the second half and WKU cruised to a 30–14 victory moving them to 5–2 (4–0) on the season.

After the cancellation this week, I’m just happy we get to see this team at least one last time. Given the circumstances surrounding both teams, I have no idea who is going to show up and how each will play. Let’s enjoy DeAngelo Malone, Gaej Walker, Devon Key, and all the other seniors that probably won’t be with the program after this year and hope they can end a difficult regular season on a high note.
Go Tops. We’ll be providing live coverage and reaction. If you’ve made the trip to Charlotte, please send us your tailgating and in-game pictures via Twitter at @TheTowelRackWKU or on our Facebook page and we’ll share.
