Late Friday evening, WKU garnered their second commitment of the evening to the 2019 football squad when Jacksonville’s Terrell Jennings said he’s going to be a Hilltopper.
247Sports doesn’t list a ranking for the 6'1", 215 running back, but does note the Tops beat out USF, Tennessee Tech and Kent State.
The word I would use to describe Jennings is “slippery.” He runs through the line of scrimmage without fear, refuses to go down on the first hit and is able to beat defenders to the outside to force them to trip over themselves.
He also runs routes well and has good hands for a running back. He’s not what I’d call “exceptional,” but from watching his tape, I’m ready to see what he can do in a Chrome Dome, which is always a good sign.
Here, the Tops hit the nail on the head with Jennings, getting a running back (who they’re pretty good at developing) and keeping the Florida pipeline strong.
Also interesting to note, Jennings has a picture in his tweet with fellow commit Daylen Powell, who also announced his commitment on Friday. Wonder if that OL/RB relationship will blossom into a beautiful on-field one.
Jennings is the fifth member of the 2019 class, joining Powell, Mitchell Harralson, Clayton Bush and Joshua Black.
