In case you weren’t aware, one of the good people in the C-USA blogsphere, Adam Martinez, has stared a new all-encompasing C-USA blog called CUSA Report.
His goal? Give love to each team, keep up with all the top stories around the league, and have fun discussions.
Side note: it’s CUSA Report who hosts our forum. So…go show them some love.
Anyway, late last week, Adam published his Tops’ year-in-review (which I, for some reason, was just made privy to yesterday) and in case you weren’t super stoked on the past year, or needed any more reason for pessimism next year, give Adam’s review a read.
The losses are not even the worst part — it is the offense that looks like it does not know what to do anymore. Sanford wants to run the ball, and yet the run game produced a mere 60 yards per game — down from 188+ last year. D’Andre Ferby stepped into the giant shoes left by Anthony Wales and did not impress.
That’s just one segment of the review, which anyone who is reading this knows all too well.
Adam does give some “excuses,” and points to a few reasons for optimism for next year, but it’s an interesting look at what this year’s disappointing season looked like to someone outside of the program.
