Friday night, the Tops garnered a commitment from Summerville, South Carolina’s Daylen Powell.
Powell, a three-star prospect according to 247Sports and the 33rd ranked player in South Carolina, chose the Tops over conference mates Marshall and MTSU while also picking WKU over the likes of Clemson, UGA, Georgia Tech and South Carolina, among others.
The first thing(s) you’ll learn about my dude is he is quick and physical. It’s a half second after the ball is snapped before he has his helmet in the gut of a would-be tackler. He also moves very well off the line when blocking up field for a run.
With what he shows in his Hudl tape, and taking a look at the schools that were interested, I’m excited to see what Powell has to offer and can’t wait to see him on the line at Smith Stadium.
Powell is the fourth member of the Tops’ 2019 class, joining Mitchell Harralson, Clayton Bush and Joshua Black.
