WKU is hosting their first ever TOPSY Awards on Thursday night, and we’ll be updating the winners for you!
We submitted our ballot for some of the topics, although we don’t know what all awards will be awarded, so we’re going to obviously miss some.
The festivities started at 7 p.m. CT. All night, we’ll be updating this with the winners.
That’s a wrap! There were some laughs, some upsets and a good time all around.
Congrats to all of the winners, and we’ll see you next year.
The tweet does a good job of describing how tough this award was to hand out, so I’ll let them do all the explanation.
Our honorable mention is the actual winner of the Mr. Hilltopper award (but, if we had known it’d be addressed as such, it probably would have flipped)
As for the Ms. Hilltopper, it’s a pretty big upset
She upsets Ivy, Tashia and her own teammate in Cavanaugh, but Jessica Lucas is kind of the best, and is definitely Ms. Hilltopper worthy.
The male rookie of the year is no shock,
Everyone on our writing staff had Baveion on their ballot here. Every. Single. One.
Everyone also correctly picked the women’s rookie of the year.
No surprise with this pick.
WKU was Purdue’s most recent loss of the season for like, what, three months?
Heading into this I wasn’t 100% sure what best comeback meant and…I still don’t think I do…
Our first upset even though it isn’t really that big an upset.
Well deserved for Hudson, for keeping the Lady Tops at the top of not just the CUSA, but the volleyball world again in 2017.
An award that I’d have had no clue who should have won.
The winners of the Record Breaking Performance…
No shock here! We totally would have guessed that, and probably would have had the bowl streak as an honorable mention.
Another no shocker here, and definitely wont be the first time we see his name tonight.
The second winners of the night were awards given for achievements in the classroom.
The first winners of the night were for community outreach.
The football team is continually very active around the community, so the team award is incredibly well deserved.
