On Wednesday Morning, the Hilltoppers garnered a commit from a three-star defensive end in Pelham, Alabama’s Brock Higdon.
Higdon continues the trend with the 2019 recruiting class of being a big guy who can move, and being a big guy who can move on the defensive side of the ball. 247Sports lists him at 6'6", 225 pounds.
The Tops offered Higdon back on May 8.
He held offers from Indiana, Mississippi State, Navy and UAB, among others.
Even though he does move well, he doesn’t seem to be “fast,” but he doesn’t have any problem getting where he needs to go. He also wants to hurt you, and is going to bring some hurt to opposing offenses here in the near future.
A fun tidbit that was brought to my attention on Twitter by one Steven Moffett is that Higdon also plays a bit of tight end as well (and why wouldn’t you at that size) and WKU‘s director of recruiting Nate Dennison tagged tight end coach Ryan Mahaffey on Twitter once the commit was in. Maybe something is happening there?
By my count, Higdon is the lucky 13th member of the Tops recruiting class, joining Javion Posey, Desmond Johnson, Travares Springer, Jordan Flack, Terrell Jennings, Daylen Powell, Mitchell Harralson, Clayton Bush, Joshua Black, Cory Munson, Stephone Atkinson and Dylan Morton.
Also by my count, Higdon is the third player from the state of Alabam to be a part of the Tops’ 2019 class.
