After taking his official visit to the Hill over the weekend, former four-star wide receiver and one-time commit to USC, Louisville and Nebraska Manny Allen has committed to Western Kentucky.
Allen is listed as a three-star prospect in the class of 2019 but as WKUInsider’s Jody Demling notes, he was a four-star prospect as a member of the 2018 class and was listed as the #46 wide receiver in the country.
The California native is the second wide receiver to give his commitment to Tyson Helton after Jeremiah Fails did so on Friday. Allen is the fourth player in total to commit to WKU after Helton’s hiring.
Allen is deceptively quick — he doesn’t blow you away off the line, but he does get down field in a hurry. I’m excited to see what he can do in Helton’s Brohm-esque offense.
By our count, this is the 17th commit the Hilltoppers have in the 2019 class, joining:
Dalvin Smith (WR)*
Ricky Barber (SDE)
Daylen Powell (OT)
Cory Munson (K)
Desmond Johnson (OLB)
Garrett Jennings (OT)
Travares Springer (CB)
Wes Dorsey (OT)
Jordan Flack (OG)
Clayton Bush (S)
Mitchell Harralson (LS)
Javion Posey (ATH)
Webb Bates (P)
Caleb Sampson (DE)
Trae Meadows (CB)
Jeremiah Fails (WR)
