With the dumpster fire happening on the field, it’s good to have some good news in the recruiting part of the WKU football team. Oliver Parker has verbally committed to the Tops after his unofficial visit to the Hill.
Parker is a standout wide receiver from Caldwell County, Kentucky.
Parker is a 6’2", 165 pound receiver who is a deep threat similar to Calvin Johnson (for old NFL fans like me). He has a 40 yard dash time of 4.6 seconds and can play free safety if the need arises.
He averages 96.5 yards per game, the fourth-best mark in the Bluegrass, and has 39 catches for 772 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season. For his career at Caldwell County, he has 95 catches for 1,700 yards and 18 touchdowns.
The kid has good speed and has great hands. He is very good at finding green and getting open but from watching his film, he doesn’t have a lot of acceleration. Don’t get me wrong, he is fast, just not the fastest. He has highlights where he is caught from behind, but also highlights where he leaves defensive backs in the dust.
Here is a 98 yard touchdown run against Butler County Bears.
247Sports ranks the Tops with the second-best recruiting class for 2019 in the conference, behind only North Texas.
Parker is the second Caldwell County commit in the Hilltoppers’ 2019 class, joining lineman Mitchell Harralson and the 17th member of the class in total.
Parker and Harralson join Ricky Barber, Jr., Wes Dorsey, Brock Higdon, Javion Posey, Desmond Johnson, Travares Springer, Jordan Flack, Terrell Jennings, Daylen Powell, Clayton Bush, Joshua Black, Cory Munson, Stephone Atkinson, Garrett Jennings and Dylan Morton.
