Former IUPUI guard and Kentucky native Camron Justice has committed to the Hilltoppers to play his final year of eligibility and will be eligible immediately, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Last year, Justice averaged 18.6 points per game along with 3.2 boards and 2.9 assists, shooting 35.2% from three and 42.5% from the floor overall.
Prior to his stint with the Jaguars, Justice played for two years at Vanderbilt, seeing action in 33 games but only averaged 9.8 minutes and three points per game.
Justice won Mr. Basketball in 2015 and joins Carson Williams and Taveion Hollingsworth as former winners of the award.
One of the things that plagued the Hilltoppers last season was inconsistent shooting and Justice should be the missing piece to solve that problem.
The combination of Justice and Kenny Cooper coming to the Hill in the last week severely lessens the blow of losing Dalano Banton earlier this offseason. The Tops now have outside help at point guard and at shooting guard, assuming Cooper will be eligible immediately.
This commitment most likely means recent commit Jordan Rawls, who was rumored to have committed to the 2019 class, will not come to the Hill until 2020.
It also means the Tops sit at 15 players if Charles Bassey withdraws from the draft and returns to the Hill.
