WKU Recruiting: Kicker Krause Coming To (Western) Kentucky
In what I’m pretty sure is a first in my writing career, and a first for this website, we are covering a kicker’s commitment.
In what I’m pretty sure is a first in my writing career, and a first for this website, we are covering a kicker’s commitment.
Specifically, we’re covering Adam Krause’s commitment, who announced his intent to join the Tops on Monday.
Krause, rated a five-star (okay, four and a half, but we’ll round up) prospect by ChrisSailerKicking.com.
He is able to both punt and kick extra points/field goals, so it’ll be something to watch to see if he takes both jobs or is utilized in just one area.
Also, he’s a lefty!!!
I’m going to be frank with you — I have no earthly idea what I’m looking at with Krause. He seems to have a good leg? He seems to be accurate? His punts seem to have solid hang time?
But, again, I have no earthly clue.
Here’s what Chris Sailer himself said about Krause on his webiste:
Adam is a very talented lefty punter/kicker. A great looking athlete with excellent all around natural ability. Hits a nice ball on field goals off the ground. Needs to keep working on his height to play at the next level. Kickoffs are solid and competitive with the top of his class. Punting is his biggest strength. He shows he can hit a big ball and he is becoming very consistent. He has D1 talent. Look for Adam to dominate the 2017 season and turn the heads of college coaches. He is close to a breakthrough. A fine young man with a great attitude. Great prospect.
So…sweet?
Krause is the 26th verbal commit in the 55th ranked class on Rivals and the 82nd ranked class (??? that’s a ton of discrepancy) from 247Sports.
Either way, welcome to the Hill, Adam, and can’t wait for the game to be on the line. Or, rather, on your foot.
