We had a bit of a slow end to last week and a slow start to this week, and in that lull, three guys said they planned on signing with the Tops.
So, consider this a get-to-know-you kind of day.
With National Signing Day just over a week away, the Tops garnered a verbal commit from a promising young running back in New Orleans’ Garland LaFrance.
LaFrance is a 5'10", 170 pound back who rivals ranks as the 49th best RB in Louisiana, and chose WKU over Arkansas State, Army, Colorado State, ULM, South Alabama, Southern Miss, TCU, Texas Tech and Tulane, just to name a few.
If his Hudl tape is to be believed, LaFrance is a quick guy. He’s explosive, and goes from zero to 50 as soon as he touches the ball.
Also, I like the “#Feed4” hashtag, and I think it’ll do well on the Hill.
If there’s one criticism I have, it’s that he doesn’t sell the fake well — you know the ball is going to him on plays that are supposed to look like passing plays first. But, if that speed is in C-USA what it was in Louisiana High School, then we should have little problems.
If he is to sign, LaFrance will be the third running back of the 2018 class, joining Trey Urquhart and Gino Appleberry, both from the Peach State.
