WKU football’s recent recruiting momentum continued Friday evening as Mike Sanford landed three-star Miami Central safety/linebacker Arthur Brathwaite.
Besides Brathwaite getting the University’s name wrong, this is another great pickup for Mike Sanford in his first full recruiting season. Brathwaite is WKU’s fourth Florida commit (all coming from the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area) and eighth commit overall.
According to 247Sports, he is now WKU’s highest rated commit and held offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Colorado State among a lot of G5 offers. According to Brad Stephens, offensive line coach Geoff Dart deserves credit for getting a highly recruited player from a high school that has produced such players as Antonio Brown, Willis McGahee, Dalvin Cook & Bruce Armstrong among many other standouts. Here is Brathwaite’s Hudl tape:
It’s great to see the Florida pipeline continuing to be strong under Sanford. With senior’s such as Marcus Ward, Juwan Gardner, Joe Brown & Laverick Johnson graduating from the defensive backfield after the 2017 season, there should be plenty of opportunity for Brathwaite to compete for playing time as a true freshman. Continued stockpiling of Three-Star players will help WKU continue to be a factor in Conference USA for the foreseeable future. He is WKU’s third three-star incomer, according to 247. The next question for recruiting is; who’s next?
What do you think about the commitment of Brathwaite? Where would you like to see him on the field come 2018? What’s your over/under on total players from the Sunshine State? Let us know in a comment below, via twitter at @TheTowelRackWKU or on our Facebook page.
