It’s here! National Signing Day!
Okay, to be honest, NSD isn’t what it used to be. The early signing period has taken a lot of muster out of the first Wednesday in February, but you knkow what, I’m fine with that.
As we sit, the Hilltoppers have an official signing class of 17, with at least three more preferred walk ons signed on as well.
We broke all of this down yesterday in our NSD primer, if you happened to miss it.
So, today could be a quiet one for the Tops, but that’s alright; today is about finishing the pieces, not making any major splashes (although, you won’t hear many complaints if that happened to happen).
By our count, we are waiting for one more person to sign:
Heading into proper NSD, the Tops rank eighth in Conference USA and 91st in the country, per 247Sports.
Below will be our running live blog, filled with updates as guys sign and thoughts throughout the day on the class. The next generation of Hilltoppers are upon us!
10:20 a.m. CT: It’s our first update, and I apologize for the late start this morning. But, we already have three signees, all from the list above.
Wes Dorsey, the recent re-committment, is now a Hilltopper.
As is JUCO sack leader, Celestin Haba.
And the most recent signee announced is Dayton Wade, officially listed by WKU as a wide receiver.
That leaves just the most recent commitment, Tony Register, who has yet to sign. Anyone else who signs today is a pleasant surprise.
