Last month, the Hilltoppers garnered their first verbal commitment of the 2020 class in Canadian four-star center Nick Ongenda but on Firday, Rivals.com’s Eric Bossi dropped some knowledge about Ongenda maybe coming to the Hill sooner rather than later.
Bossi was at the Elite 14 showcase in Texas (home of North Texas, Denton, to be exact) and said that he had been talking with some of Ongenda’s coaches to get the scoop on when he’ll be suiting up in the red and white.
“Ongenda’s coaches confirmed that he’s on track to graduate as a 2019 prospect and that he’s likely going to end up a member of the current senior class.”
While we may have to wait a few months for an official announcement, we may have a Bassey replacement (if he goes the one-and-done route) sooner than first thought.
If Ongenda does reclassify, he’d become the third member of WKU’s class of 2019, joining Harlan Jackson and Isaiah Cozart.
