A day after the 2018 early signing period began, Mike Sanford and his staff continued their positive recruiting momentum by getting a start on their 2019 class when Bowling Green’s own Clayton Bush committed to WKU.
Bush, a 6', 180 pound safety from South Warren High School, was offered by WKU in September during the middle of South Warren’s run to the 5A Semifinals. Bush did a little bit of everything on the season for South Warren; in 14 games, Bush had 63 tackles and an interception on defense while adding 27 receptions for 616 yards and seven touchdowns as a wide receiver on the offensive side of the ball. He also accumulated two other touchdowns, one passing and one rushing. Here is his highlight video on Hudl
Bush isn’t rated yet (not uncommon at this juncture) by Rivals or 247Sports but the local buzz on him is strong.
Bush is WKU’s first Bowling Green commitment since Jordan Meredith in 2016 and the first South Warren commitment since Joel Iyiegbuniwe in 2014. It’s great to see WKU get a local commitment especially to start off the 2019 class. Welcome to the Hill, Clayton.
