The recruiting train continues to roll for Mike Sanford and the Toppers as the landed their first commitment post-bowl game loss on Monday with Lee Graham, a three-star receiver from Florida.
Graham, from Baker County High School in Glen St. Mary, Fla., chose the Tops over Central Michigan, Marshall, Purdue, Southern Miss and South Florida.
The Hudl tape tells a, frankly, boring story. But, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing — he’s fast like you’d hope a receiver is, he can makeup for mistakes his QB makes when throwing the ball (which seems to be a lot of underthrown passes). The one thing that impressed me was he stays with the ball — he doesn’t make every clean catch, but he’ll haul in an ugly one or two.
In march, Graham spoke with FlaVarsity.com and mentioned that some schools (mainly Marshall) were looking at him as a two-way player, and he added “To me that’s not a problem I can do it all. I’m not trying to being cocky or anything, but the ability God game me I have to use it.”
The article also stated that Rivals’ analyst Woody Womack had previously said Marshall was in the lead for Graham, but he backed off the Herd once Purdue came knocking. And yet, it was Steve Spurrier, Jr. who has him coming to the Hill.
I’ll be shocked if he isn’t apart of this week’s early signing class, as he told FlaVarsity, “Yeah, I’m waiting out till National Signing Day, I’m not committing any time soon,” when he spoke to them in April.
I’m not sure how Spurrier landed this kid, but I’m excited for him to be a Hilltopper. Welcome, Graham.
