Rachel Anderson finished with 11 kills for the night and Taylor Bebout had 25 assists as WKU swept Belmont, 3–0, to extend their home winning streak to 24 wins which currently leads the NCAA.
The Lady Tops looked strong coming straight out into the first set and set the tone early. Anderson has done a tremendous job in the place of Alyssa Cavannaugh, logging four kills in the first set as well as a big block.
WKU took the first set 25–16.
The Lady Toppers struggled more in the second set as Belmont did their best to try to keep their heads above water. They went on a run toward the midway point of the second set to tie things up but WKU was still able to pull away and win the second set, 25–21.
One person who really impressed me was Bebout. She has really stepped up since Jessica Lucas left the Hill and finished with 25 assists for the game along with seven digs.
The third set started very close as WKU and Belmont went back and forth with no one really pulling away. Belmont tried to get momentum going but wasn’t able to capitalize as WKU took the final set 25–20.
This win was WKU’s 24th home win in a row which now leads the entire country. The Lady Tops have continued to dominate in Diddle so now with this streak I’m hoping it means more people out to help support a team that’s dominated the C-USA ever since they’ve joined.
