WKU Volleyball: Travis Hudson garners career conference win 250 in Lady Tops win
When I was a student at WKU, I almost never, ever, e-v-e-r missed a volleyball match.
When I was a student at WKU, I almost never, ever, e-v-e-r missed a volleyball match.
There are a plethora of reasons for why (and before you begin to think otherwise, I’m a true lover of the actual game, so get out of here with other reasons), but one of the biggest was the admiration I have for Travis Hudson, who bleeds Topper red brighter, harder and deeper than anyone I’ve come across.
An absolute class act, Coach Hudson reached yet another milestone in his prolific career on the Hill when his Lady Tops defeated Southern Miss in four sets last night.
Coach Hudson, who garnered an incredible 215 conference wins while in the Sun Belt, won his 35th conference game since the Tops joined Conference USA, and I can’t think of a better person who deserves such an accolade.
As for the match itself, it was everything you love about Lady Topper volleyball. Outside of dropping the first set (which is very, very rare), everything was working — Alyssa Cavanaugh tallied 21 kills, Jessica Lucas dished out 48 assists AND led the Lady Tops with 12 digs while Emma Kowalkowski, Georgia O’Connell and Sydney Engle each had 11 digs.
The Ladies, who are ranked 25th in the nation and are 17–2 this season with a 5–0 CUSA mark, are back in action on Tuesday against Lipscomb.
Another congrats to Coach Hudson on his milestone win, and a congrats to the Ladies for continuing to roll in conference play as they continue their title defense.
