Here we sit, nearly 30 hours after Saturday’s loss to Troy, and I still feel pretty good about what WKU will be able to do during the rest of its season.
ok.. so I'm reading UTSA is going to be hard to stop, But, and its a huge But the Roadrunners can't tackle ahh well I like our offense to oblige ! and yes our defense faded last week, but they didn't allow a total beat down which I think will be enough to quell Roadrunners enough for Hilltoppers to win.. its going to be a good game it time for team Win face to be put on ! Go Toppers! gotta get tough and understand your abilities make all games winnable !
All the people sitting around us at the game were giving the coach a blast of yelling for some horrible offensive plays, much less the defensive end of things. This team could easily have a .500 record or worse by the end of the year. Fumbled away a victory, now twice. Reed is no Zappe. All those horizontal passes Reed is throwing is just a big puzzlement. Road Runners may destroy the Toppers this weekend. The defense is definitely lacking again. Big time.
Two fumbles have been costly, yes, but the playcalling has been far from yelling over. The horizontal passes are integral to what this team wants to do, especially since the rushing attack still isn't solid. Getting the ball out of Reed's hands fast and giving it to a shifty guy like Corley or Mathison is a good thing, even if its frustrating when it doesn't work (aren't rushes frustrating when they don't work, too?). All about keeping things balanced and making the defense respect what you're doing.
