WKU Recruiting: Florida Defensive End Announces Commitment to Tops

WKU has a second defensive lineman commit this week as Crestview, Florida's Marcus Patterson looks headed for the Hill.

Western Kentucky has added a second member to their class of 2022 this week as Crestview, Florida’s Marcus Patterson has committed to the Hilltoppers.

The Tops beat out Central Michigan, Tennessee Tech, Stetson and Lafayette for his services.

Patterson, a 6’4”, 235 pound defensive lineman, is a physical being who can play both on the edge and on the interior. While not elite at tearing away from offensive linemen at the line, he’s able to make a play while having a body on him or, at times, is slippery enough to evade them all together and get into the backfield, showing a high-level of elusiveness in flashes.

By our count, Patterson is the 13th commitment for the Tops’ 2022 class and is one of four defensive lineman to announce a verbal commitment.
