We shall see. Again, it is you who is setting the high expectations and ignoring the fact that other teams are recruiting good players as well. You could have written this entire article without blowing everyone’s skills into the NBA level. I understand though, blowing expectations up is what you do best.
At any rate, it might actually give us more than 6 good players to get playing time. I’ll be there watching them play.
On the NBA comment, you have an All-Conference player in Dayvion who could've easily been C-USA POY as a sophomore if he had less turnovers or a little more sexy stats elsewhere. You have three guys who were 4+ stars coming out of high school. The star rating system at 4+ stars directly means they have pro level size, skills, and/or potential. And then you have Jamarion Sharp, who obviously is the most likely to make the NBA. I'm not saying they're all going. I'm saying each one of them on an individual basis could have a nice pro career if they develop and blossom at WKU (or wherever they end up). If Western was to make the tournament, that's an international platform where EVERYONE would get to see them play. Opportunity would be much less if they didn't make that stage. But I still stand by the fact that each of them could go on to have high level basketball careers. Look at the 2008 squad. How many of them made pro careers lasting around a decade? A few are still playing. It's not ridiculous to assert that one or two of these guys could get drafted at some point. C-Lee and Jeremy Evans got drafted off of the 2008 squad. If you read what I actually said, it's not that extreme. Based on pure potential, that's a heck of a starting five.
Also, Rick, you say I ignore that other teams are finding good players, I literally talked about UAB’s roster and that UNT will probably be the other team that should be considered a favorite. There’s zero way Western isn’t considered some kind of top tier favorite in C-USA this year. Please explain how I didn’t do exactly what you said I should have done in the article.
Matt, you talked about them, yes. WKU WILL be considered good, but probably not the favorite unless the others don’t return everyone. It’s you that can’t take people disagreeing. Therein lies the toxic problem you mentioned. I don’t agree with you while others do. I know others that disagree but they aren’t vocal. I hope you sell a lot of insurance.
Matt, I would LOVE to play more than 6. I said that and you do your usual thing…twist it. We haven’t played more because the talent wasn’t there. With your EXPERT basketball credibility, I’m surprised you didn’t see that. Maybe this recruiting year will be better. I feel it will be as long as they pnn on at up to your prognostications.
Keep trying. You might make someone mad eventually. In the meantime, I hope you don’t quit selling insurance because you’ve got to be better at that.
Excellent analysis
Thank you

So if we don’t play more than six players next year, you won’t understand why, either? Interesting. Get ready. He might squeeze in 7 lol
